April 15, 2026 - La Paz Fishing Report – Baja Pirates

Fishing in La Paz is off to a solid start this spring for the Baja Pirates fleet. While it hasn’t been wide open, our guests have stayed busy with consistent action and an impressive variety of species hitting the decks. Yellowtail fishing has been a bit tougher than usual this season, though anglers are still managing to pick away at a few quality fish. In the meantime, grouper and snapper have really stepped up, keeping rods bent with some great-sized fish coming over the rail.

We’re also seeing a nice mix of dorado, roosterfish, triggerfish, and amberjack in the counts, adding to the excitement and variety that makes springtime fishing in La Paz so special. One of the standout catches so far was a beautiful 42-pound amberjack landed by Manny Chumacero of Southern California—definitely a fish to remember!

Spring is one of the best times of year to fish La Paz, offering comfortable weather and a wide range of species to target. If this early action is any indication, it’s shaping up to be another great season on the water with Baja Pirates.

Here are  few pictures of this months action in La Paz!

December 16, 2025 - Mag Bay Fishing Report – Baja Pirates

Fishing in Mag Bay has been excellent. Offshore action has been strong, with wahoo biting consistently, along with some quality dorado and grouper being landed on the outside.

Closer to shore, the mangroves are producing steady action for our guests. Snapper, grouper, snook, white sea bass, triggerfish, and other species are hitting the decks, keeping rods bent and anglers busy throughout the day.

Overall, fishing conditions remain very good, offering a great mix of offshore excitement and productive inshore fishing in the mangroves.

Fishing in Mag Bay continues to deliver steady action for our guests this week. Out on the outside waters, anglers are finding consistent bites from wahoo, yellowfin tuna, dorado, and big grouper. The blue water has been lively, and the variety of species landing on the decks has kept every trip exciting.

Inside the mangroves, the inshore bite has remained just as productive. Our anglers are catching snook, snapper, grouper, white sea bass, sheephead and triggerfish, with plenty of opportunities throughout the tidal swings. These sheltered waters continue to offer great action and memorable moments for both seasoned anglers and newcomers.
